Public Notice of DDA Organization Committee Meeting

The Village of Middleville Downtown Development Authority’s Organization Committee will hold a committee meeting on Thursday January 27th, 2022 at 2pm at the Mix Coworking Studio where the DDA Office is located, at 125 E. Main St., Middleville, MI 49333 to review the Authority’s financial policy. The meeting will take place in the conference room and the meeting is open to the public.

Alternatively, to participate in the meeting by providing public comment, you may email your public comment to the following email address schmidtk@villageofmiddleville.org. Emails received prior to the meeting at the above-listed address will be read aloud during public comment. Persons with special needs who wish to attend should contact the Village Clerk to make arrangements for participation.  In all other respects, this committee meeting will be held in accordance with Michigan’s Open Meetings Act and the DDA Bylaws, as those rules may be modified from time to time.

Public Notice of DDA Christmas on the River Working Committee Meeting

The Village of Middleville Downtown Development Authority’s Christmas on the River Committee will hold a committee meeting on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Mix Co-Working Studio, where the DDA office is located at 125 E. Main St., Middleville, MI 49333 to recap and review this year’s Christmas activities and start thinking about next year! The meeting is open to the public, and volunteers are welcome to join us.

Village of Middleville Open Position for Downtown Development Authority

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) members attend monthly meetings, review meeting packets from the DDA Director prior to each meeting, consider and act on plans to enhance the downtown district, promote economic growth, and foster new opportunities for development.  The DDA Board operates under the Michigan Recodified Tax Increment Financing Act 57 of 2018.  A member of the DDA Board must become familiar with these laws. Training opportunities will be made available and paid for by the DDA.

For more information regarding DDA Board Member duties and responsibilities, please contact the DDA Director at 269-241-1170 or at schmidtk@villageofmiddleville.org. The term of the DDA service will begin upon approval and swearing in of the member and run until February 2024.  To be eligible to fill one of these two vacancies, a prospective DDA member should have an interest in a property, business, or organization within the Downtown Development District, or reside there.
