The Village of Middleville Downtown Development Authority will hold a special on Thursday, January 5 at 3 pm at the Village Hall, located at 100 E. Main St, Middleville. The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
Alternatively, to participate in the meeting by providing public comment, you may email your public comment to the following email address schmidtk@villageofmiddleville.org. Emails received prior to noon on January 5, 2023 at the above-listed address will be read aloud during public comment. Persons with special needs who wish to attend should contact the Village Clerk to make arrangements for participation. The Botanical Co. Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening
The Middleville Downtown Development Authority is pleased to invite members of the press and public to join us as we welcome the Botanical Company to downtown Middleville. This new retail space is the first of its kind in Middleville and in Barry County, offering both medical and recreational cannabis products. A ribbon cutting will be held Friday, October 28, at noon, at their location at 640 Arlington Ct. The Ribbon Cutting will be immediately followed by a Grand Opening Celebration with food, a DJ, giveaways, and other fun activities running until 6 p.m. Please join us in us as we celebrate this new business!
The Botanical Co. is part of a franchise that first began in Lansing more than a decade and now operates on sites across West Michigan thanks to a business team led by Jarred Biggs, Dennis Weiss, and Kirk Weiss. The company grows many of the products they offer and works hard to maintain top quality in both goods and services they provide. Biggs has a degree in business from Davenport University and spent most of his career in more traditional development and investment fields, but when his mom was diagnosed with cancer, he began growing medical marijuana as a way to support her through her journey. Although the Botanical Co’s offerings include a robust variety of adult-use products, Biggs said that medical grade products will always be a cornerstone of what his company offers because he has seen firsthand the difference they can make for individuals with cancer and other serious health conditions.
With family ties to other Middleville businesses and many fond memories of the village from his childhood, Biggs is committed to investing in Middleville. “I’m beyond excited to make a difference within the village and really help to provide jobs and opportunities in the area,” Biggs said. “Our team will emphasize helping customers become knowledgeable, by taking the time to educate patrons about their options. We’ve designed the space to provide comfort and a unique shopping experience that will accommodate the community’s cannabis-related needs.” The building, formerly home to TTS Fitness, has undergone a massive remodel featuring elegant design schemes, custom cabinetry and display fixtures, and more.
